Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new Netflix program has elicited strong emotions from royal admirers.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's latest teaser for their series, Polo, was published on Thursday, however numerous royal fans were unimpressed with one aspect.
The streaming network shared the new two-minute clip on social media with the caption: "Polo, a behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced and glamorous world of the sport, is coming to Netflix on December 10." From executive producers Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
However, the current release has sparked widespread criticism, with numerous royal admirers accusing the spectacle of animal cruelty.
Peta, a nonprofit that fights to eliminate animal abuse, has previously condemned the sport ahead of the Duke and Duchess' Netflix show premiere, claiming that it is "hard on horses".
"while it's easy to be wooed by the glitz on display at the matches, there is no doubt that polo is more grim than glamourous for the horses," the foundation contends.
Fans also commented on the clip, with one saying on YouTube: "Watching a series that encourages animal torture is extremely horrible. The Real Housewives of Horse Abuse will be a tough sell for me. Shame on you, Netflix."
