Ryan Reynolds claimed that he attempted to convince Nicolas Cage to appear as Ghost Rider in Deadpool & Wolverine.
On November 7th, the 48-year-old actor joined on The Entertainment Weekly's podcast The Awardist, when he said that Cage was still in its early stages.
The Canadian actor claimed that they had approached the 60-year-old actor to reprise his renowned role from the film The Ghost Rider, but the Oscar winner had declined.
"We tried, but he was unavailable. "I would've loved him," Ryan said.
Following the film's release, Marvel's Rodney Fuentebella unveiled early concept drawings that revealed intentions for Nicolas Cage and Ben Affleck to make cameo appearances.
Unfortunately, neither the team nor Reynolds were able to make this happen.
He said that they were attempting to shoot the picture responsibly.
"It's a big budget movie, so you want to give yourself as much constraint, which really I think facilitates asymmetrical thinking and creativity," according to him.
"If you have too much time or too much money, it usually kills that kind of creativity."
