The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, broke their silence on the highly anticipated TV show's debut date.
In an interview with Variety, the showrunners indicated that no formal date has been set yet.
"Right now, we're just cutting all the visual effects sequences for the show so they can get started on those, so that they can be running in time for a release," Matt Duffer told me. "Many details, such as release dates and cadence, have yet to be finalized. That's one reason I'm not authorized to discuss it."
He went on to say, "We'll have a call on it in a few of weeks. I simply know it was critical for us and [the streaming platform] that we release it this year. But even that is quite a push.
It has been more than two years since the show's fourth season aired, and despite an epic cliffhanger, fans have yet to see a teaser or hear any big news about the following season.
While it is unknown if the new season would launch in late 2025 or in 2026, the streaming platform's quiet on the program during last week's 2025 slate reveal seemed strange, given that they unveiled every other huge original series.
