Former One Direction member Liam Payne, who died unexpectedly last year, will appear in his first postmortem endeavor.
Payne will appear as a guest judge on the upcoming singing reality show Building the Band, which is supported by Netflix.
However, while the project is nearing completion, the streaming site is hesitant to feature the late pop icon.
Liam's scenes in the show will most likely be limited for sensitive reasons.
According to reports, the streaming media firm is aiming to 'strike the appropriate balance' with his participation on the talent competition, believing that more of his appearances may be perceived as callous.
A source familiar with the matter told a reputable newspaper: "The feeling among execs at Netflix is that they want to err on the side of caution, and if that means having Liam in the least amount of scenes possible then that's the step they're willing to take."
The newspaper reported: "They want to strike the right balance between having him feature in the show, doing the thing he loved, with having him feature too much, which would be a lot for his loved ones to contend with."
According to the insider, Netflix does not have the option of removing him totally from the reality series, even if they wanted to, because the Teardrops singer is an integral part of the production.
