Idina Menzel, an American actress and singer best known for her strong voice in Broadway successes and Disney's Frozen, has disclosed that she broke a few rules on her route to stardom.
The 53-year-old diva began her career as a youngster, singing at weddings and without a driver's license. The singer admitted that she drove to her concerts nevertheless, stating, "I had to get to those weddings somehow."
Idina told Andy Cohen on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' that she was around 17 years old at the time. So I was only a junior license holder, which meant I couldn't drive at night, but I would drive illegally to every temple in the tri-state region.
The Enchanted star, who subsequently became much more renowned as the voice of Elsa in Disney's Frozen, admitted she "couldn't believe" she was making money as a singer at the time.
She continued: "Honestly, back then, when I was 17, I couldn't believe I was making money as a professional singer."
Idina was astonished when a couple in the crowd disclosed that she performed at their wedding over 30 years ago, and they produced an old photo of her from that day to prove it.
