Instagram released the Edits app to the public on Tuesday, over three months after it was initially revealed. It is a mobile video editing solution that includes a variety of creative tools such as high-quality video recording, keyframing, automated captioning, and camera settings for resolution, frame rate, and dynamic range. Instagram claims Edits users may employ artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to edit their videos with even more creativity, including AI picture animation and other effects. The app is available for iOS and Android.

Meta Platforms, the parent company of both Instagram and Edits, claims that the new software would enable artists express themselves more effectively on any network, rather than just Facebook and Instagram. It claims to ease the video editing process by allowing users to capture high-quality footage and provide speedy editing tools.
Creators may change their camera settings for frame rate, resolution, and dynamic range. They can take up to 10-minute movies in greater quality than Instagram. According to the site, it provides easy access to features including touch up, one-tap green screen, music library, timer, and countdown.
The keyframing function in Edits allows you to identify the exact times to animate the position, rotation, and scale of clips. Still photographs can easily be converted into movies using the AI image animation tool. Aside from that, the software allows users to alter their backgrounds to a green screen or add a video overlay. There is an extensive selection of fonts, sound and voice effects, filters, stickers, and other components accessible. The program is touted to improve audio quality by reducing background noise and including automatically produced, configurable subtitles. There is also an Ideas tab, which serves as a central location for all of the ideas that come to mind.
Videos generated using Edits may be immediately shared on Meta's applications, including Facebook and Instagram. Alternatively, producers can export the movies and upload them to other sites without a watermark. It is also stated to have a live analytics dashboard that shows a split of engagement between followers and non-followers, as well as data like skip rate.
Initially introduced for iOS, the software is now available for download on the software Store and Google Play.
