On Wednesday, the Buckingham Palace published a statement from King Charles recognizing "all who work to support cancer patients and their loved ones."
In his statement, the king expressed his family's "deepest admiration and gratitude" to everyone who helps cancer patients and their families.
The palace announced: "This evening, Their Majesties will host representatives from community-based cancer organisations and initiatives to thank them for their tireless work in providing support to people navigating a diagnosis, as well as raising awareness of the preventative actions people can take."
Last month, King Charles was briefly hospitalized after experiencing adverse effects from cancer treatment.
The 76-year-old monarch has been in therapy since February of last year, when he was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer following testing after a corrective operation for an enlarged prostate.
Kate Middleton, his daughter-in-law, announced in September last year that she had completed her course of preventative chemotherapy for cancer, stating that the treatment had given her a new perspective and made her glad for "simply loving and being loved".
Kate, 42, the wife of heir-to-the-throne Prince William, underwent extensive abdominal surgery in January, which discovered the existence of cancer, and has been receiving treatment ever since.
