Ed Sheeran provided news about his next album, Play.
As the popular singer prepares to leave his mathematical symbol series behind, the release date of his eighth studio album has been set for September 12, 2025.
His chart-topping albums - (Subtract), + (Plus), x (Multiply), ÷ (Divide), and = (Equals) produced popular songs such as Bad Habits and Shivers.
Sheeran's forthcoming album will see him explore "new musical ground" as he interacts with foreign musicians from all around the world, drawing inspiration from Indian, Persian musical traditions, and the Irish folk heritage he grew up with.
Play contains the freshly released song Old Phone, which takes listeners back to the Shape of You hitmaker's past.
While the pop song Azizam, which means "sweetheart" in Persian, was composed with Iranian musician Ilya Salmanzadeh, Irish vocalist Johnny McDaid, and American singer Savan Kotecha, Sheeran dedicated it to his wife Cherry Seaborn.
Ed Sheeran has eight number-one albums, including his recent +-=÷× (Tour Collection) collection.
