Cynthia Addai-Robinson, the actor of The Accountant, has hinted at a possible future for her character, Marybeth Medina, in the third film.
"I haven't thought about it," the actress told Collider. "I think that I'm still excited to see how people receive the sequel..."
Cynthia commented on the third installment, saying, "I am hopeful, and I would love to make this the trilogy that it deserves to be." And the Marybeth we encounter at the start of Accountant 2 is not the same Marybeth at the conclusion."
"What you aspire for in any great character arc is that a person undergoes profound transformation. "She's definitely a different woman by the end," she explained.
She continued: "I would love to see once she's had her own" aha "moment, if you will, how that shifts her worldview moving forward."
In the end, Cynthia clarified: "She is ultimately somebody who truly wants to see justice served, put the bad guys away, and that can come about in any number of ways."
"So perhaps she has a more expansive view of that, and I would be curious myself to see how that translates in a third movie," the female lead said.
