Princess Kate's old boss has won a protracted court struggle with his neighbours over throwing gatherings on his palatial home.
John Robinson, the 77-year-old fashion magnate and inventor of the Jigsaw clothing business, has received permission to continue hosting weddings at his £12 million Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds.
His triumph follows a three-year legal struggle, which included a nine-day public hearing. Robinson, who previously employed Princess Kate as an accessories buyer at Jigsaw before her marriage to Prince William, drew fierce criticism from locals.
Neighbors have expressed worry about potential disruptions, such as late-night music, fireworks displays, and increased traffic on surrounding roads.
Robinson received an enforcement notice in 2022, ordering him four months to stop organizing gatherings at the estate. However, after completing two planning applications and filing an appeal, he has now been given permission to continue using Euridge Manor as a wedding venue.
A spokesman for Enridge Manor Weddings stated that they were 'delighted with the receipt of planning approval' following the long-running issue.
Princess Kate worked at Jigsaw for slightly over two years, beginning in June 2025, before departing to join her family's business, Party Pieces. Local opponents claimed that Robinson's land was being used as a business venue without legal permits for a "change of use."
Despite these protests, the planning procedure finally decided in Robinson's favor, enabling activities to go as planned at the stately rural house.
