Ariana Grande's followers are in awe of her performance as Glinda in Wicked and are praising her on social media.
The Disney veteran, 31, was praised by fans across social media following the release of her two-part film adaption on Friday.
Her supporters took to social media to voice their belief that Grande should be considered for an Oscar consideration for her performance.
One of these supporters wrote: "Give Ariana Grande the Oscar or at least Golden Globe for best performance in a comedy."
Another agreed with film reviewer George Carmi's statement that the Side to Side singer "deserves the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress," commenting, "Thank you [George Carmi], we appreciate you," via X.
In response to Variety's forecast that the actress is the frontrunner to win the Oscar, a social media user remarked, ''And the Oscar goes to... ARIANA GRANDE!!!!!!' "I can hear it very clearly."
"After seeing Wicked, I'm quite perplexed by the backlash Ariana Grande has received online... Not only was it a fantastic acting performance by someone who is typically a singer, but I believe she merits serious Oscar consideration," wrote another.
This comes after it was discovered that the freshly released picture had the largest opening day for a film based on a Broadway adaption in domestic box office history, earning $117 million in only the first weekend.
