Doctors did not grant Queen Camilla permission to cancel her yearly sad Remembrance Sunday.
However, unlike the rest of the royals, the 77-year-old observed the two-minute pause while privately watching the ceremonies live on television at Raymill, her Wiltshire home.
The Queen was sad that she was unable to join the royal family, including the King and Princess of Wales, at the Cenotaph to see the veterans procession in memory of the troops and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Camilla's presence at the commemoration weekend was ruled out by royal physicians, who advised her to rest for a few more days to completely recuperate after contracting a seasonal sickness on her long-haul journey to Australia and Samoa.
There was also fear that she would spread the sickness to others, given the King is currently having cancer treatment and Kate is recuperating from the ailment.
Camilla's wreath was deposited at the Cenotaph on her behalf by her equerry, Major Ollie Plunket of The Rifles.
The Queen's handwritten dedication said "In everlasting remembrance" and was signed 'Camilla R'.
