Prince Andrew continues to cause problems for the royal family, and King Charles appears to be fed up with it.
The monarch is allegedly upset and "truly exasperated" by his brother's recent error, which could eventually cost him his last major links to the royal family.
Charles is expected to make final changes to the forthcoming annual royal meeting, as the disgraced royal leaves little choice to his brother.
"It's hard to imagine the duke will have the gall to parade himself before the loyal crowds at Christmas," royal analyst Jennie Bond told The Mirror.
The analyst predicted that Charles would prohibit Andrew from Sandringham because the royals could not afford any more humiliation on his behalf.
"For the sake of the monarchy, he should spend it away from Sandringham, out of the public eye," Bond said afterwards. "The monarch's brother has become a recurring embarrassment to the Royal Family and now he's involved in a possible threat to national security."
It remains to be seen what the King will do for his brother.
The statements came after the disgraced royal was linked to an accused spy, H6, who was disguised as a Chinese businessman.
Following an MI5 investigation, the accused individual lost an appeal against a decision to exclude him from entering the UK on security grounds. Immigration courts determined that he had gained a "unusual degree of trust from a senior member of the Royal Family".
