Meghan Markle has faced criticism from a neighbor in Montecito, who bluntly labeled the Duchess of Sussex as "not an asset" to the affluent Californian community.
The harsh critique was exposed in a new German documentary, which focused on suggestions that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex live a disconnected existence inside the privileged enclave.
According to the documentary, their high-profile status has not resulted in personal relationships with their neighbors, raising controversy about their role in the tight-knit community.
New details have surfaced about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's life in Montecito, just days after Prince Harry stated that he had no plans to return to the UK, citing his family's pleasure in their Californian sanctuary.
Richard Mineards, a Montecito resident and social journalist, commented on the royal couple's presence in the upscale town in a recent German documentary.
"I personally don't think that Meghan is an asset to our community," he told me. "She doesn't really go out or get involved with the community."
While Mineards regarded Prince Harry as "quite jolly" and mentioned his infrequent appearances, he also stated, "Meghan doesn't seem to get seen anywhere... and you don't see him [Harry] either."
Despite the modest profile, peeks inside the Duke's daily routine reveal a grounded lifestyle.
His days are believed to consist of 30- to 40-minute meditation sessions, personal trainer exercises, and solo beach walks with the family's Labrador.
He is occasionally sighted overseeing school drop-offs, providing rare peeks into the Sussexes' daily lives.
