Serena Williams continues to support Taylor Swift after being booed at this year's Super Bowl final game.
The 43-year-old former athlete stated that she had intended to meet the pop superstar during the game, but couldn't bring herself to do so because Swift was being publically abused.
During an interview with Time on Wednesday, April 16th, Williams revealed that her daughter, Olympia, is a big Swiftie who wanted to meet her hero, but their plans altered when Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, began losing the game.
"I'm such a mom, I was ready to go in here myself and be like, 'Taylor, come get this girl.,'" said the renowned tennis player.
However, she noted, "It is difficult when your team is losing. I completely get it."
Williams sympathised with the Anti-Hero hitmaker, saying, "Why would you boo her?" That's quite cruel. That is really dreadful."
Williams initially supported Swift on the day of the Super Bowl. Williams took to X and posted, "I love you @taylorswift 13, don't listen to those booo!!"
Swift chose to take a break from the spotlight after the "mean" public reaction and has been keeping a quiet profile ever since.
