Serena Williams is revealing the true reason she avoided Taylor Swift at the 2025 Super Bowl.
The 43-year-old tennis professional, who has long been friends with the Anti-hero hitmaker, told Time Magazine about her abrupt change of heart after watching Swift being booed during the Kansas City Chiefs' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The athlete revealed that she and her husband were both keen about collecting Taylor's autograph for their daughter Olympia.
She told the newspaper, "I'm such a mother. I was prepared to enter here myself and say, 'Taylor, come get this girl.'"
Attempting to put herself in the singer's position, Williams went on to say, "It's difficult when your team is losing. I completely get it. My spouse and I are in such a different space.
"We're so connected, so in love, and we're just trying to get autographs for our daughter Taylor Swift." "And nothing else."
However, she was disappointed by the crowd's reception of Swift.
Williams asked, "Why would you boo her?" That's quite cruel. That is really dreadful."
In addition, she expressed her support for the Grammy Award winner, maintaining their years-long relationship.
She tweeted on social media at the moment, "I love you @taylorswift13." "Do not listen to those booo!!"
This comes in the aftermath of Kansas City Chiefs' humiliating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, 2025.
