Liam Payne's producer buddy, Sam Pounds, has been accused of 'profiting' off the late singer since he announced the release of his posthumous single, Do No Wrong, on Friday, November 1.
However, Sam postponed the publication to show respect to the Teardrops singer's family, who are now mourning their loss.
Despite his choice, people have targeted and abused him for attempting to profit off Liam's death.
Pounds has had enough of the insults and has decided to respond to some of them via an official statement.
Taking to his social media account, the Grammy-winning producer wrote: "Where was everyone when 'they' were attacking him on TikTok and now attempting to do the same to me? Huh? Where were you when the media attempted to ruin his legacy? Huh? Did you have the ability to modify the narrative? NO."
"I wanted to promote and draw attention to the music and memories that WE made. Our duet. This is our moment. "A moment of pure happiness and joy."
He also added in his article that Liam wants the song to reach all of his followers. According to Sam, the Strip That Down vocalist had a lot of hopeful ideas for the song.
"You guys really attempted to make this wonderful homage into a'money' thing. The internet does not need to be a breeding ground for negativity! Also, a pirated track from the live mix is getting around," he said, adding that it is evident that the money goes to the family, which is the most natural thing.
After Liam Payne's death, Sam Pounds wanted to release Do No Wrong as a memorial.
