It appears that there was a more important purpose for Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton's perfectly planned agenda during the Qatar royals' State Visit.
The Princess of Wales and the Queen Consort, who are both recovering from different health difficulties, made their presence known at the important royal ceremony at Buckingham Palace, although they were kept separated inconspicuously.
Kate, who finished her nine-month cancer treatment in September, was there for the ceremonial greeting, carriage parade, and viewing of an exhibition of Qatari objects at the Picture Gallery. However, she did not attend the ceremonial dinner the next day.
Kensington Palace released Kate's schedule before the occasion.
However, Kate and Camilla were not pictured together during the lunch or gallery visit, which raised some conjecture.
Previously, Us Weekly reported that the Queen Consort and the future Queen had a "tense" relationship, particularly when it comes to key royal roles.
"She loves her responsibilities," one source told the magazine. "Her whole life, she has always wanted to be queen, so she doesn't want to let it go so fast."
According to the insider, Camilla is "particularly hesitant to pass on her duties to Kate" since they have "always had a tense relationship."
Kate and Camilla have avoided public appearances with one other several times in recent months.
Meanwhile, Kate missed the Diplomatic Corps Reception at Buckingham Palace two weeks ago, despite the fact that Prince William was present.
While there is no concrete evidence of a severe schism between the two royal women, the Palace is known for rigorous preparation to avoid displaying any issue publicly.
