Shemar Moore, an American actor, said that he led a selfish life until his mother died.
During an interview with People, the Criminal Minds star claimed that he focused on his profession rather than parenthood, but when his mother died in 2020, everything changed for him in an instant.
Moore continued, "When my mother died, I felt like I messed up. I worked so hard for my job because I was - and still am - determined not to fail. But what are you giving up to avoid failure? "What are you losing?"
He revealed that his mother, Marylin Joan Wilson-Moore, died, which made him understand how much he was giving up in life.
"I realized, 'Wow, I was selfish.'" I made it all about myself. I made everything about my career. I made it all about pursuing females, living my life, and partying with my friends. "All she ever wanted was to be a grandmother."
The 54-year-old actor admitted it was her "dream," admitting that "I still feel guilty about it" for not paying attention to that aspect of life.
